The honsha-niwaki Executive Development Missions aim to provide leaders with unique experiences, insights, and different ways to approach business challenges. We aim to provide a collegial atmosphere, opportunity to learn from others, and a smooth and supportive travel experience.
From time-to-time there may be events that interrupt the smooth experience, and we would like to call them out here, and how prefer to handle them,, so we are all on the same page.
- Force Majeure Events
Definition: A Force Majeure Event pertains to an unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstance or incident beyond the control of either party. This encompasses occurrences such as earthquakes, floods, fires, explosions, wars, invasions, civil unrest, government actions, pandemics, epidemics, and disruptions in essential services.
Honsha niwaki retains the prerogative to cancel any confirmed tour prior to its commencement in the event of a Force Majeure Event. Should this rare event occur, Honsha niwaki will provide as much notice as possible to Tour Participants in advance. The Tour Participants may then opt for a full refund of the tour fee or elect to reschedule their booking for a future tour at no additional cost. It is important to note that Honsha niwaki does not take responsibility for reimbursing airfares and travel insurance under any circumstances.
- Travel Insurance
All tour participants are expected to check with their company for procedures for the use of medical and other insurances in other countries. We strongly recommend ensuring that you have considered the coverage application for thee tour destination.
- Participants Cancellations (not related to pandemic circumstances)
In the event that the Tour Participants wish to cancel or modify their tour date without incurring penalties, they must do so no less than 28 calendar days before the tour commencement. If the participant decides to cancel or alter the date of their originally scheduled tour within the window of 28 to 14 days before the Tour (for reasons unrelated to pandemic), a fee of US$500 shall be levied for costs already incurred in preparation for their tour. Should such a cancellation or alteration be made within 14 days of the tour, without pandemic-related reasons, a fee of US$ 1500 will be applicable.
The tour participant acknowledges that the cancellation fees detailed above are equitable and reasonable to compensate Honsha niwaki for any potential losses incurred.
- Participants Cancellations (pandemic related)
Should the Tour Participant be unable to attend the tour due to circumstances related to a pandemic such as alterations in government restrictions, isolation mandates, or quarantine protocols in Japan or the Country of Departure, we will support you to reschedule their booking for a future tour, devoid of any fees. To exercise this option, the Tour Participant must promptly notify Honsha niwaki in writing substantiated by sufficient evidence of the circumstances.
It is important to recognize that Honsha bears no responsibility for losses incurred as a result of the Tour Participant’s inability to participate in the tour, or any adjustment made to their original travel arrangements due to inability to partake in the tour.
