Hello! I’m Roberto Okuyama, an associate Lean consultant at Honsha.ORG, graduated in Electrical Engineering from São Paulo State University (UNESP) and MBA in Business Management from Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
With 26 years of experience and a career developed in the telecommunications, aeronautical, home appliance manufacturing, and automotive industries. Over the years I’ve gained experience in the automotive, engineering and projects, and aerospace sectors. Here are some relevant experiences:
Toyota of Brazil, where I worked for 15 years, holding positions from Production Engineer to Section Chief in Production Control and Logistics areas. Acting in areas such as Production Planning and Control, S&OP involving the headquarters and other overseas plants, parts procurement, and supply chain. In these areas, I had the privilege of participating in system implementation and automation projects, new vehicles, team structuring, productivity and cost Kaizens. Application of TPS (Toyota Production System) in an office environment. Technical management of outsourced in-bound logistics.
Panasonic of Brazil, Home Appliance business division, in the role of Production Control and Logistics Manager, I was responsible for in-bound Logistics, Warehouse, fiscal receiving, and project team. In these areas, I was responsible for people development through training, process review, and new systems. Implementation of in-house parts inventory policy with significant inventory improvement (reduction of 1Mi BRL) and expansion of production and warehousing capacity to support the company’s growth.
