Hello, I’m Dário Yanagita, a business consultant with a passion for strategy and business management. I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and from a young age, I developed an interest in solving complex problems and helping companies reach their full potential.

My educational background includes a degree in Production Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP), a renowned institution in Brazil. During my studies, I focused on an inventory control system known as ‘replenishment to consumption,’ which I later discovered was a fundamental component of the Toyota Production System.

My Lean journey began in 1994 at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, a company I’d been with since 1988. There, I started applying Lean principles and eventually became responsible for the entire Lean Coordination Office. We even established a training program for Lean Methodology multipliers, training professionals from Brazil, Germany, and China. However, the more I practiced, the more I realized how much more there was to learn.

In 2004, I had the opportunity to join Toyota do Brasil, which allowed me to gain invaluable insights into how a company committed to business excellence operates. I held various managerial roles, including working in Corolla Production, Production Control and Logistics, Quality Assurance, and Environment. This provided me with a holistic understanding of the Toyota Production System, not only from a manufacturing standpoint but also from a managerial and administrative perspective.

With over 5 years of experience at HONSHA, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients. Some of the companies I’ve assisted include:
⦁ SEG Automotive: I contributed to improving the OEE of the armature line, increasing it from 70% to 85% through SMED practices.
⦁ CR Bluecast: I helped structure the initial steps for the company’s Production Control to operate in a Lean model, addressing operational and quality challenges.
⦁ Raízen: As part of the HONSHA team, involved in helping the client implement a culture of excellence and responsible for the Standardized Work methodology.
⦁ Cladtek: I provided training in Lean Leadership, PDCA, Standardized Work, 5S, and KAIZEN methodologies for senior/middle management and technical staff in the Oil and Gas sector.

In addition to my professional life, I place great value on my family. As a dedicated father and husband, I understand the importance of work-life balance. I make time to spend with my family, travel, and engage in physical activities like walking to maintain well-being and quality of life.

I’m proud to work at HONSHA because, in addition to all I’ve mentioned, I have the opportunity to volunteer through LEAN FOR HOPE and contribute to society.
