Hello! I’m Eduardo Kiyoshi Yoshihara, a business consultant with a passion for strategy and business management. I was born in Marília, SP, Brazil, and from a young age I developed a keen interest in solving problems in a logical and practical way, which led me to choose the field of engineering.
My education includes a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of São Paulo (UNESP), a renowned institution in Brazil. During my academic journey, I acquired training and honed analytical and strategic skills that have proven essential in my career.
With over 30 years of experience, I had the privilege of learning the essence of the TPS-Toyota Production System (Lean) directly from Toyota Japan experts and masters who were disciples of the ‘Father of Lean,’ Sensei Taiichi Ohno.
I authored a book titled ‘Toyota FMDS’ to share my knowledge and experiences from my career. The book presents the TPS (Toyota Production System) in a straightforward and clear manner and dedicates a chapter to FMDS, an advanced methodology for activity management.
As a Lean Consultant, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients, from agribusiness to multinational companies, across various sectors. Some of the companies I’ve worked with include:
⦁ Flexcon: A global adhesive film manufacturing company. I led the implementation of Standardized Work in their U.S. units.
⦁ Raízen: One of Brazil’s largest private business groups with over 40,000 employees. They have a presence in sugar and ethanol production, fuel distribution, renewable energy generation, and lubricants. My work there involved facilitating the transformation to a Lean culture.
⦁ Fleximedical: A social business that specializes in building mobile healthcare units, including healthcare trailers, healthcare vans, telemedicine cabins, modular hospitals, stationary healthcare units, and hospital containers. My role was to guide them in their transformation to a Lean culture.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I hold my family and faith in high regard. As a dedicated father and husband, I recognize the importance of balancing personal, religious, and professional life. I make an effort to spend quality time with my family, meditate, travel, and engage in physical activities to maintain overall well-being and quality of life. One of my favorite pastimes is playing tennis.
Ethics and an unwavering commitment to excellence are values that guide both my personal and professional life. ‘Customer First’ is a principle Toyota established since its founding, and it’s a mantra I’ve embraced throughout my career. I always strive to understand the needs of my clients and help them build strong partnership relationships.
