
Hello! I’m Roberto Okuyama, a consultant with a passion for strategy and business management. I was born in Bauru-SP, Brazil, and from an early age, I developed an interest in solving complex problems and assisting companies in reaching their maximum potential.
My educational background includes a degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), a renowned institution in Brazil. During my academic journey, I honed my analytical, strategic, and leadership skills, which have played a crucial role in my career as a Lean consultant.
With over 23 years of industry experience, I have worked with a diverse array of clients, spanning the telecommunications, aeronautics, white goods manufacturing, and automotive industries. Over the years, I’ve accumulated experience in various companies, including:
⦁ PANASONIC, at the white goods factory, where I served as the PCP Manager. In this role, I oversaw in-bound Logistics, Warehouse operations, tax collection, and project teams. My primary responsibilities included developing people, executing substantial projects, and implementing process and inventory improvements.
⦁ TOYOTA, the globally recognized automaker renowned for manufacturing and logistics excellence. I headed the section responsible for the PCP & Logistics areas, bringing 15 years of experience in Logistics, Production Planning and Control, S&OP involving the headquarters and other overseas plants, parts procurement, and supply chain. I played pivotal roles in system and automation implementation projects, new vehicle launches, team structuring, productivity and cost Kaizens, as well as the application of TPS in an office environment. I provided technical management for outsourced in-bound logistics.
I’ve also held roles at companies such as DEXCO, EMBRAER, and NEC, where I worked as a factory supervisor, handled planning, and managed various projects.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I’m deeply passionate about Logistics, PCP, and the Lean Universe. I find joy in traveling, spending quality time with my family, cycling, and indulging my love for grilling meat and preparing Japanese cuisine. As a dedicated husband and father, I firmly believe in the importance of balancing personal and professional life. I consistently strive to create moments to connect with my family, explore nature, and discover new places.
